NUMERALLA-COUNTEGANY
VOLUNTEER BUSH FIRE BRIGADE
The NSW Rural Fire Service Association hosts the Brigade website free of charge.
During 2013-2014 the Brigade was successful in applying to the RFSA for grants for the purchase of:-
- heat trace for the pumps on our fleet;
- kestrel weather stations; and
- GPS units for all trucks.
The RFSA also hosts a 'member forum' (www.forum.rfsa.org.au). In order to access this area you need to be a RFS member and apply to become a registered forum member. Once accepted however, you will be able to participate, or follow, a lot of interesting topics involving the RFS, equipment, communications and incidents just to name a few. So if you have a 'burning desire' to know more about what is going on give some thought to joining.
The NSW Volunteer Firefighters Assocation is the independent voice of Volunteer Firefighters within the NSW Rural Fire Service. NSW Volunteer Firefighters or Brigades as a whole may join the VFFA free of charge. The VFFA represents the interests of volunteer firefighters without fear or favour to the RFS and the State Government in all aspects of volunteerism including Firefighting, Welfare, Discipline, Grievance Disputes, Workplace Safety, Discrimination, Training etc.
Also a reminder that Brigade members may be eligble to join 'MyRfs' (www.myrfs.nsw.gov.au). This site provides information on procedures, incidents etc.
